Mount Arlington is a small borough, a little over two square miles of land, on the southeast shore of Lake Hopatcong, the largest lake in New Jersey. It was a Victorian resort town first, when trains carried summer crowds to its hotels and later to Bertrand Island amusement park, which closed in 1983.
