Why It Matters

Holiday Lighting Without the Ladder

Every December the same thing happens across North Jersey. The lights come out of the attic, half the strands are dead, and someone ends up on an icy ladder in the dark trying to reach the peak of a second story. Professional holiday light installation removes all of that from your December.

Under Pressure House Washing designs, installs, maintains, and removes holiday lighting for homes and businesses across Morris, Passaic, Bergen, and Essex County. We handle rooflines, peaks, gutters, columns, walkways, wreaths, garland, and trees, using commercial-grade lights rated for a New Jersey winter rather than the big-box strands that fail in the first freeze.

Because we spend the rest of the year on ladders and roofs cleaning these same homes, we already know how to work on your roofline safely and without damaging it. Nothing gets stapled or nailed into your fascia.

FAQs

Common questions about holiday and Christmas light installation cost, timing, and takedown in New Jersey.

How much does Christmas light installation cost in New Jersey?

Every roofline is different, so we quote per property rather than posting a flat rate. The price is driven by how many linear feet of roofline you want lit, how many stories we have to reach, roof pitch and access, and whether you're adding wreaths, garland, walkway lighting, or tree wrapping. Your first season includes the lights themselves, which are custom-cut to your home and stay yours; later seasons cost less because that cutting is already done. Send us a few photos of your house and we'll send a flat, all-in quote, usually within an hour.

What's included in the price of holiday light installation?

Our quotes are full-service, not just the hanging. One price covers the on-site design consultation, commercial-grade LED lights custom-cut to your rooflines and peaks, professional installation with no staples or nails in your fascia, mid-season maintenance if a strand or bulb fails, takedown after the season, and off-season storage of your lights. There is no separate takedown bill in January and no box of tangled lights going back into your attic.

When should I book Christmas light installation?

Earlier than most people think. We start booking in late summer and the calendar fills through the fall, with installs running from October through early December. Booking early gets you the install date you actually want rather than whatever is left, and it gives us time to design and cut your strands before the rush. If you're reading this in the fall and haven't booked, still call us. We'll tell you honestly what dates are left.

Do you take the lights down and store them?

Yes, and it's included. We come back after the season, take everything down carefully, and store your lights with us until next year. That means nothing goes back into your attic or garage, and nothing has to come down off an icy roof in January. When you rebook, your strands are already cut to your house and ready to go up.

Will the installation damage my roof or gutters?

No. We don't staple or nail anything into your fascia, shingles, or trim. Everything is hung on removable clips designed for the surface it's attaching to, so nothing is left behind when the lights come down. We spend the rest of the year on these same rooflines washing houses and cleaning gutters, so working on a roof safely and without marking it up is already what we do.

Do you use my lights or provide your own?

We provide them. We use commercial-grade LED strands rated for a New Jersey winter, custom-cut to your rooflines, which hold their color and survive the freeze-thaw cycles that kill big-box retail strands. Those lights are yours and we store them for you between seasons. We generally don't install customer-supplied lights, because we can't warranty a strand we didn't source or guarantee it lasts the season.
